The latest official data indicates that the number of people in China who access the Internet via their mobile phones is fast on track to reach one billion.
As of the end of 2020 the number of people connected to the Internet in China was approximately 989 million, of whom 986 million used mobile devices for access purposes, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on 28 February.
Mobile Internet user access traffic in 2020 was 165.6 billion GB, for a YoY rise of 35.7%.
