Chinese Central Bank Commences Work on New Payments Data Centre in Guizhou Province

Construction work has officially commenced on a new central bank data centre situated in the south-western province of Guizhou.

An official ceremony was held on 11 March for the signing of a construction contract for the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) Gui’an Data Centre Project in the Guizhou province capital of Guiyang.

The three signatories to the contract included PBOC’s China National Clearing Centre (CNCC), the Gui’an New District Administrative Committee and Gui’an Chankong Group (贵安产控集团).

The Gui’an Data centre will be a “large-scale full function data centre” designed to support the “various key information infrastructure facilities” of the Chinese payments system and the Chinese central bank.
