Shanghai has topped a new ranking of China’s leading financial centres in terms of comprehensive capability.
The China (Shenzhen) Comprehensive Development Research Institute (中国（深圳）综合开发研究院) recently released its “13th China Financial Centre Index Report” (第十三期中国金融中心指数报告), providing an assessment of 31 of China’s leading financial centres across a range of indices.
Shanghai ranked first in terms of comprehensive capability, followed by Beijing in second place, Shenzhen in third, Guangzhou fourth and Hangzhouin fifth.
Chengdu took sixth place, followed by Chongqing in seventh, Nanjing in eighth, Tianjin in ninth place, while Wuhan rounded out the top ten.
