China’s First Half Current Account Surplus Exceeds 1 Trillion Yuan

    China’s current account surplus exceeded the 1 trillion yuan threshold for the first half of the year.

    In the first half of 2022 China’s current account surplus was 1.096 trillion yuan, according to preliminary data released by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE). This included a trade in goods surplus of 2.0845 trillion yuan and a trade in services deficit of 245.7 billion yuan.

    China’s current account surplus for the second quarter of 2022 was 531.6 billion yuan, including a trade in goods surplus of 1.1641 trillion yuan and a trade in services deficit of 139.9 billion yuan.
