One of Bank of China’s (BOC) fintech subsidiaries has been included in the inaugural list of “artificial intelligence talent bases” released by the Chinese central government.
BOC Fintech (中银金融科技有限公司) was included in a list of “Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Talent Bases” (数字化转型与人工智能产业人才基地) released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) towards the end of December.
MIIT said that the compilation of the list is part of a “major key strategic deployment” outlined by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council for driving the development of China’s digital economy and accelerating the training of digital talent.
According to MIIT, the strategy seek to drive cooperation on research and applications between government, enterprise and academia.
